My love for Islamic calligraphy continues to even today's masters. For instance, Reza Abedini. In the strictest sense, his work is not traditional calligraphy... His typography, however, still displays the ingenuity and spirit of handwritten Farsi. Also, these are absolutely beautiful even without knowng the language. See more of his work at his website.
